Viva : Problem Solving in Topic of Salt

That will be my general topic for Undergraduate Project presentation tomorrow.

The research was conducted in English but the report was written in Bahasa Malaysia.
The title in Bahasa Malaysia is

"Kaedah Penyelesaian Masalah Pelajar Tingkatan Empat dalam Tajuk Garam"


Here's the abstract:

Problem solving is one of the cognitive aspects. If the most sophisticated intellectual function is taken into consideration, problem solving can be defined as a cognitive process of the highest level which requires modulation and more routine monitoring. Therefore, a research is necessary to determine the best method or skill that students need to apply in problem solving. This is a descriptive research. A survey has been conducted on 100 respondents from three secondary schools in the district of Ledang, Johore. Results from this survey has been analyzed quantitatively and presented in the form of frequency and percentage. The analysis of the results shows that students are more inclined to use arithmetic and algorithmic techniques in problem solving. Several implications have been stated according to the aspects researched.
